Pesto Pasta

Here’s a delicious, creamy pesto pasta recipe that’s both simple and satisfying. The creamy sauce is made with pesto, and Parmesan, giving the pasta a rich and herby flavor.

Creamy Pesto Pasta Recipe

Ingredients

  • 100g per person ish (penne, fettuccine, or spaghetti work well)
  •  Pesto sauce (homemade or store-bought) the Aldi red/orange one is great.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup pasta water (reserved from cooking)
  • Optional toppings: cherry tomatoes, fresh basil, extra Parmesan, pine nuts

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: In a large pan, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1/4 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta. Set to one side for a minute.

  2. Pour your jar of pesto into the pan on a medium heat.
  3. Add most of the parmesan cheese and stir. This makes it creamy.
  4. Add some of your pasta water to thin out the sauce.
  5. Add garlic paste if you want to for that extra hit.
  6. Mix in your pasta and stir in well till everything is coated. 

Serve with cheery tomatoes, basil etc to taste.

EXTRA DELICIOUS

Slice a salami sausage about quarter to a half a centimetre slice about 10 slices will be fine, fry them in a pan (no oil needed) for a few minutes and toss them over the pasta.
