Here’s a delicious, creamy pesto pasta recipe that’s both simple and satisfying. The creamy sauce is made with pesto, and Parmesan, giving the pasta a rich and herby flavor.
Creamy Pesto Pasta Recipe
Ingredients
- 100g per person ish (penne, fettuccine, or spaghetti work well)
- Pesto sauce (homemade or store-bought) the Aldi red/orange one is great.
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup pasta water (reserved from cooking)
- Optional toppings: cherry tomatoes, fresh basil, extra Parmesan, pine nuts
Instructions
Cook the Pasta: In a large pan, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1/4 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta. Set to one side for a minute.
- Pour your jar of pesto into the pan on a medium heat.
- Add most of the parmesan cheese and stir. This makes it creamy.
- Add some of your pasta water to thin out the sauce.
- Add garlic paste if you want to for that extra hit.
- Mix in your pasta and stir in well till everything is coated.
Serve with cheery tomatoes, basil etc to taste.

EXTRA DELICIOUS
Slice a salami sausage about quarter to a half a centimetre slice about 10 slices will be fine, fry them in a pan (no oil needed) for a few minutes and toss them over the pasta.
